Smile!

A while back, Broc was playing with the kids and their cameras. This was one of the pics that I found on the camera. CUTE!

Hand Made Birthday Presents

Last week we received a hand made birthday present from great grandpa and grandma. Caden received a barn and fence. Allyson received a doll cradle.
Both kids love their presents. They play with them all the time and will for years to come.

Girl's night out

Last night, some gals from church got together for a girls night out to see the movie 27 Dresses. This movie was so funny, I had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard.
It is a chic flick where the girl ends up with the guy - but there is a twist. I would highly recommend this one!

Arky Arky

We found a new cd (well - new meaning we haven't listened to it for awhile).
It is kids bible songs. We got it out because a couple weeks ago in Sunday School, we sang This Little Light Of Mine and Allyson will start to sing it and then ask "what comes next mom?" and want me to help her.
Another song on the cd is Arky Arky - I was singing it with the kids, and trying to do the actions to the chorus - "so rise, and shine, and give God the glory glory; rise and shine, and give God the glory glory, rise and shine and give God the glory glory, children of the Lord."
I have to admit, it has been a long time, since I have sang that song - or did the actions.
If anyone can help me out with the actions, that would be great - just leave a comment so that all can see.

Big Girl Panties

Allyson is doing so well with going potty! She stays dry all day long, and is starting to even wake up at night to go to the bathroom.
I have to add that every time we go to a public place to use the restroom, when we flush, she covers both her ears and says "that's loud".
She also has started lately telling me "I'm peeing in my pants" when she really isn't but usually that is a sign that she needs to go soon!

Heat Wave?

For the past week (at least) it has been downright cold! Like -15 degrees F. Yes - that is below zero! It has been colder than that at times - but we don't want to think about it!
We have been under the weather here, and are all on the mend, so this afternoon when it was 40 degrees (above zero) we took advantage of the warmth and played outside. We used our new sled, and played on the big snow pile that uncle Kyle and grandpa made with the tractor.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

These are one of Allyson's favorite treats. She loves to eat them - but she licks all the chocolate coating off and then leaves the pretzel (now soggy from being wet) to be thrown away. This is what she looks like after just one pretzel.

Tired Out

On Saturday, Broc and I had Cursillo meetings all day, so the kids went to Grandma Kay for the day. They are at the age where they don't like to take naps.
About an hour after we got home they were pretty tired. Caden fell asleep on the couch watching tv.

Dora and Diego birthday

On Sunday, we invited Grandpa Rick and Grandma Kay, Grandpa Wayne and Grandma Mary, and Uncle Dan, Aunt Dana and family over for cake and to open birthday presents.
We received lots of nice gifts including a V Smile with a Shrek game, a sled, Underdog movie, Little Mermaid movie, sheets for our new beds, cases for our digital cameras, the Cars characters Lightning, Mater and the tractor, and furniture for the Dora house.

Foggy Road

Today on the way to work, the wind was blowing snow across the road. Allyson looks up about half way to work and says - "Mom, is the road foggy?" "How we gonna get to daycare?" I tried to explain to her that it was just snow blowing across the road, but she was insistant that it was fog on the road - but just on the road - not in the sky.

Chuck E. Cheese Birthday

For Caden and Allyson's 3rd birthday, they have said for the past 3 months or so that they wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese. They had a great time. Of course they were more interested in playing games than eating. We did get them both to eat 1 piece of pizza by telling them that when Chuck E. came out from behind the curtain and looked at them, he wanted to see them eating the pizza that he made. (It worked this time!)
When Chuck E. Cheese came out and danced with kids, Caden and Allyson both watched closely from a distance, but didn't want to participate. They would give Chuck E. a high five - but that was it.
Caden loved climing in the tower and crawling around above us and peeking out to see us! Allyson never figured out that she could climb around - she just found the slide.
One of the favorite rides was the horse that you could ride that had a video screen that looked like you were racing the horse. They each got to pick a prize with the tickets that dad helped them win. (Mom isn't too great at the games)

On the way home, we stopped for "birthday ice cream" with sprinkles.
It was a fun night!

Happy 3rd Birthday

Happy 3rd Birthday Caden and Allyson! I can't believe how fast the time goes. It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital for your birth.
You have grown so much! You love to play with each other and are always looking out for one another. If one of you is given a treat, you ask for one for your sibling.
Caden, right now, you love playing with your trucks, tractors, trains and your Disney Cars movie characters. You also love Diego, dinosaurs and dogs, and being outside.
Allyson, right now you love anything Dora the Explorer and all things princess. You love to wear dresses and skirts, but some days you just want something that has pockets. You love to sing songs you also love babies (real and dolls).
You both love to imagine and play pretend. You love going to daycare to play with your friends. You love reading books and being read to. Your favorite foods are pizza and chocolate.

Krispie Treats

We took birthday treats to daycare to share. They were snowman rice krispie treats with frosting.

100th Post

I wanted to point out that I just finished my 100th post for the life of this blog! Wow - who knew when I started that this would be so addicting?
I really do enjoy blogging. It is a great way for me to take pictures and comment about them shortly after I take them, then someday when I get to scrapbook a page for the event or picture, I will remember thoughts and details that I normally wouldn't write down!
For those of you that check out my blog - if you don't have a blog of your own, seriously consider starting one. It is very simple to do - I am learning as I go. It is also a neat way to stay in touch!
Thanks to all who checking out our family activities and my comments. We love to hear from you - so feel free to leave comments on the blog if you like!

Grocery Shopping

A grocery store that I stop at occasionally after work has mini shopping carts. The kids think they are so much fun. They won't ride in the regular cart anymore when we stop there. (probably part of the reason I only stop on occasion!)

Misc.

This is the first post of the new year! Things have been pretty quiet around here - not much to blog about!

Caden and Allyson are sleeping upstairs in their beds! Yeah! They are doing so well. The first couple nights, mom or dad slept on the "swimming pool" on the floor in their room, but the last 2 nights, they have slept through the night upstairs. This is a major accomplishment for our family. Otherwise, Caden slept either in the toddler bed in dad and mom's room, or in our bed. Allyson slept either on the couch, or in dad and mom's bed.

Saturday evening, Caden and mommy went to the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. It is so cute! Caden loved the one on one attention. Allyson stayed home to keep dad company and watched Ratatouille. She thought she was pretty big stuff to stay up past bedtime.

Just a few random pictures on the camera from the past week.
Allyson just home from church and playing with Dora's House.
Playing Legos.
