Friends Birthday Party

On Saturday, Jan 22, we had a birthday party with friends.  Allyson had a princess party, and Caden had a Spider Man party.  We had so much fun time with friends.
First we played the HedBanz game

Some Twister
 Then we played Freeze Dance.
We danced to Freak the Freak Out, by Victoria Justice and Dynamite

Next we had lunch of hot ham and cheese sandwiches, cheetos, purple finger jello, and juice.
Opening presents - and thanking friends for the gifts.

Happy 6th Birthday!

My babies turned 6 on 1-11-11.  You are precious gifts from God.

I feel so blessed that God has picked me to be your mommy! As hard as it is from me to see you grow up and turn one year older, it has been so much fun to see you grow this past year.
You both love kindergarten and are so excited to learn to things.

Caden, you are all boy.

You rarely sit still.   If only I could bottle up your energy.  Your love for life and others pours out of you.  You love your sister - she is your playmate.  You guys wrestle around, play house, play Lego's or what ever else you dream up!  I pray that you will always have a close relationship with her.
Caden - I can't believe how well you are doing in reading and math!  You can sound out words that you haven't even learned in school yet.  I am so proud of you!

Allyson - You love life and live it to it's fullest!

You are so creative!  You will take paper, colors/markers, and scissors and create something that I couldn't image!  You are very determined and are like a sponge in school - you can memorize most things without much effort.  I hope that continues for you.  I am so proud of you!
Allyson - You are a wonderful sister to Caden and he loves it when you play with him.  You care about each other and never get tired of playing together.  You love to play dress up and have a definite opinion about what you want to wear!
This year, you have school 4 days a week, so that means Fridays off of school for you, and off work for me.  I love spending this time with you.  We play games, run errands, read books, bake, and do so many fun things on these days.  I am going to miss this next year when you are in school every day.

Hat Day

For fun this past week, the kids were asked to wear hats to school 1 day while learning about the letter H.  They were so excited.  Caden was looking for a certain hat.  When he couldn't find it, he told me with no hesitation that he didn't need to bring a hat because his teacher would have extras and he could wear one of hers.

New Year's Eve

This year, we rang in the new year by going to a motel with a pool. We all had a great time.
It took a little planning to get it all worked out, as the weather forcast didn't look good - snow, blowing snow, poor visability, etc - (you know - normal weather for this time of year where we live).
Broc had to work, so the kids and I drove up with friends. After a cold job of packing the vehicles, we were on our way. We took it slow, but made it to our destination without any mishaps. The visibility was poor at times.
We check into the motel and the first thing on the kids agenda was to swim. Even the adults enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. (sorry - no pics of the pool/hot tub)
After swimming, we ordered pizza.

While waiting for the pizza to arrive, the kids played Bop It.

After pizza, the moms, and some kids went to Falls Park to look at the lights.
Wow - it was cold - but so pretty to see the lights. A couple group pictures - we couldn't find anyone crazy enough to be out in the cold to take our picture.

Me and Allyson

Back to the hotel to swim some more, and relax.
HAPPY NEW YEAR -
almost everyone made it to midnight, except Carly and Eli.

Gingerbread Houses

During a sleepover at Grandpa and Grandma's house during Christmas break, the kids got to make and decorate their own gingerbread houses. They all had so much fun!

Snow ball fights
