Hot Chocolate

We had hot chocolate for a treat. Both kids really enjoyed it! Allyson got to drink out of the Strawberry Shortcake mug that mom got for a gift when she was little (grade school). Can you believe it is still around - and cool again!?!
Caden was happy to drink out of the mug that had a picture of our church on it!

Homemade Stockings

Caden and Allyson made stocking with the foam pieces in Sunday School. They are so proud of them - we had to come home and put them on our Christmas Tree in the "wiggy room" aka the Living Room. Allyson calls the stocking her "bean stalk"
They also practiced the song "Away in a Manger" that they will be singing with their Sunday School class at the Christmas Program.

Bee Movie

On Thanksgiving night, we went to see the Bee Movie. Caden liked the movie, but fell asleep about 10 minutes from the end. Allyson says she didn't like the movie, but she really seemed to. She did have to go out a couple times to go to the bathroom (since we are really working hard on potty training this week). We did have lots of popcorn and pop to go with the movie.
This was the first movie that the kids have seen in the theater - and they did really well.

Sibling Love

Wanted to share a pic of the kids - I have been trying to get back into the swing of things, but life stays really busy!
2 weeks ago I worked the women's Cursillo and it just seems like trying to catch up on sleep, deal with sick kids (we have been to the dr 4 times in 2 weeks - Caden had bronchitis and Ally has her barky cough back again this year - and we want to get to the bottom of it - so that everyone can get better sleep!), and simply keep up with life been about all we can do!
Now that I mentioned about 4 things in just a short paragraph - you can see what we have been up to without reading books!

Sunday Memories

These pictures are from a couple weeks ago - We went to Great Grandparents for dinner after church. This is such a fun memory for me and hope that it continues for Caden and Allyson too.
For years, I can remember going to grandpa and grandma for dinner after church. Of course, as our families get larger and busier, this tradition has not been as often as it used to be, but it is still a fond memory. It is so much fun for the cousins to get together and play and as we get older sit and visit and watch our kids play.

Point of Grace concert

On Saturday evening, I had the privilage of going to the Point of Grace concert. Some friends called me earlier in the week and told me they had won free tickets and weren't going to use all of them and I could have one! I was so excited. It was a great concert, and a great night out for me because Broc was gone from Thursday to Sunday evening working at Cursillo, so it was just the kids and I.

I like Nerds!

One of the favorite candies that Caden and Allyson received for Halloween was little boxes of Nerds. (Not really a favorite for mom - they get all over)
The other day Ally really wanted some, so I told her to be very careful because they like to jump out of the box - she thought that was really funny and keeps telling me "they like to jump up and down" and also "I like to jump with them"

Trick or Treating (Finally)

Trick or treating at G'pa and G'ma.

The day, for the kids, started out by going to daycare like usual, except they went dressed in Halloween costumes because they were going to go trick or treating with their daycare friends at the hospital (where I work) and to the nursing home next door and also to the bank that is on the other side of the daycare. They were both so excited to go, but then were a little disappointed when they learned that mom wasn't going to go along with them. Both kids were very happy to see me giving out treats, but then didn't want to leave me. Some tears were shed, but thanks to some great, loving daycare "teachers" they recovered just fine.
After daycare, we went to some of the local business and then met Dana and the boys to go trick or treating with them for a little while. It was a chilly evening and Caden wasn't feeling very well, so we didn't go very long, but received plenty of candy!
