Homemade Pizza!

We went to Grandma Kay and Grandpa Rick's for supper last night. Grandma made homemade pizza. It was very good!
The kids enjoyed sitting at the "little kids table" by themselves!

Playing with Pictures

I was recently told about a new photo editing program called Picasa. I had to try it and play with some pictures a little. It can be a lot of fun!

Play Date

We went to a play date with some friends. Tina has been a friend of mine forever. We grew up together and did alot of things together. She has recently moved back to this area. It was fun to catch up and visit while the kids played. She has 2 kids. A boy just a little younger than Caden and Allyson, and a girl that is 18 months. It was a fun day!

Things Kids Say

The other night, we were eating supper, and Allyson said
"I have worms in my tummy and they talk."
I asked her what her worms say.
She said (in a deep, low voice) "I'm full."

When we tuck the kids in bed at night, they like to say prayers. When I tuck Caden in for nap, he has to say prayers and have kisses and hugs too. I think this is so cute!
It really puts me back into reality - because too often I am busy, or frustrated because I have tried to get him to lay down and tucked him in 2-3 times already.

The kids have cowboy hats that they like to play with. Allyson also has a pair of pink cowboy boots. She had both on and was playing. I said "Now you look like a cowgirl." Allyson said, "But mom, I don't have any cows!"

(This one comes from Grandma Mary.) They were eating snowflake buns (for those of you that aren't familiar with them, they are just a regular bun with some white flour on top.) and Caden asked Grandma, "Can I have another bun with that white dirt on it?"

Easter Dinner and Hunt #3

Sunday dinner was at the Greats. We took the opportunity after dinner and the egg hunt to take a few pictures of family.

Cousins (it's hard to get a good one with everyone looking!)

Happy Easter!

Sunday morning started out early. We had sunrise service at church at 7am. After church, the youth group serves egg casseroles and cinnamon rolls and fruit for a fundraiser. It is always yummy. We took a couple pictures when we got home.

Easter Egg Hunt #2

Saturday evening, we went to Grandma Mary's for supper. The kids got to play the Wii and thought it was neat to box each other. Caden did more dancing with his feet than his arms, at first, but caught on quickly. Allyson only played one round, and then said she was tired. It was cute to watch. The big boys were also funny to watch. They would start out in the middle of the floor, and pretty soon, they would be right in front of the tv. They sure worked up a sweat!

The kids had so much playing with Levi, Hallie and Reese this weekend. They spent so much time together, they started adopting each others words. For instance, Grandma Mary is called "Nana" by the kids, and Caden and Allyson were calling her that after awhile.

After supper we had an Easter Egg Hunt. All the kids got to find eggs, and then got a stuffed bunny and an Easter basket. So fun. There were little flower pots and seeds in the baskets, so that we can plant them and watch them grow when it gets a little warmer. Thanks for the treats and fun!

Easter Egg Hunt # 1

Saturday morning, we had an Easter Egg hunt. Hallie, Levi and Reese joined us for the fun! It was snowing when we woke up, but quit long enough for the hunt.

Easter Egg Coloring

We dyed Easter Eggs this weekend. The kids thought it was a lot of fun. Caden ended up with blue spots on his face and a green belly because he got into the dye. Allyson kept herself pretty clean.

Random Thoughts

I just wanted to share a few thoughts.
Last evening I was taking a bath (in our new bathtub with the tile completely finished - sorry no pictures until it is painted) and Broc was listening to music on the computer with the kids. It just made me think of how blessed I am to listen to all of them singing Jesus Loves Me - Go Fish style, and also Days of Elijah. When I was finished, the kids called me over to show me the actions to Days of Elijah! They did so well. They have been asking me to play this song when we drive to work, but I don't have it in the van, so they were excited to sing it! It is one of their favorites right now.

Tonight when Allyson and I were at church for Maunday Thursday service, the minister was talking about Jesus' pierced side, when Allyson starts talking (rather loudly - or so it seemed) about pierced ears. (Obviously she was listening!) Towards the end of the service, the lights were turned off, so that the only lights on were behind the cross. What a neat picture. Then she was very concerned when the lights went off, she started saying (again rather loudly) "I can't see Jesus. Mom, I can't see Jesus." - She was talking about the minister, as both kids seem to think that the minister is Jesus. (what goes through the mind of a three year old!)
I also want to say that as we were taking communion during the service, Allyson was asking lots of questions, like "how come the cups are little" and "what is that". I tried to explain to her that it is for big people. She thought that since the cups were little, it should be for little kids.

Easter Bunny visits Daycare

Today, the kids had the Easter Bunny visit them at daycare. They were so excited. Allyson squealed with excitement, and Caden was one of the first out of his chair to come up to the bunny to say "Hi". Both of them were so excited to give the bunny a hug.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The kids thought it was fun to wear green today.

What we've been up to

The last 2 1/2 weeks, we have spent most of our free time working on remodeling our bathroom. We started out just thinking about putting tile around our tub/shower. That turned into deciding to put in a new tub and then redo the walls - since we live in an older house that has plaster walls, and Broc would like to eventually get all the plaster replaced with sheet rock. Well, we have spent quite a bit of time at Lowe's picking out supplies, and then also going back for more. It is progressing well, after a few minor problems - which you can usually figure on something of the sort when remodeling in an older home. It is looking so good - I can't wait until it is finished.
I will share a couple before pictures with you and when it is finished, will share the after with you.

The bathroom before the remodel started.

Opples and Bononos

The kids learned a new song at daycare today. They have been singing it all evening. It is the Apples and Bananas song where you change the vowel to make them sound different.

Daddy's Shades

The kids love to find dad's sunglasses and wear them. Allyson has her favorite Dora top on and Caden has his "grumpy" shirt on - I'm not sure why he calls it that - but every time they see the shirt, that is what they call it.
They also both dressed themselves in this picture.

I wanted to comment on Allyson's hair. She doesn't mind if I put "pretties" in her hair, but she doesn't like to leave them in - so this is the result.

Wild Turkey

Look what the kids and I saw out our kitchen window while eating lunch.

Dreams

This is something that the kids did at daycare. I thought it was really cute!
