Practice Time

My honey shooting bow and arrow. This is one thing that he enjoys and doesn't get to do very often. He was able to get a little practice in this evening before it got dark.

Snow Fishing

Today was a really nice day. The kids got to play outside at daycare, and then again when we got home. They found sticks and pretended to "snow fish". It was a contest to see who could get the biggest fishy. They had fun - that's what counts.

Big Boy Underwear

Caden is working on going to the bathroom in the big potty. He is making progress. He enjoys wearing big boy underwear when we are at home. The only thing is he thinks that the character picture needs to be in the front - now if you ask me, whoever designed boys underwear should have thought of this. Girls have the picture in the front, why don't the boys? The big picture is on the back. As of now, I don't have the heart to tell him differently and if I try to correct him, he takes it off and puts it on the "right" way.

Items of value (in a 3 yr old's eyes)

Awhile back, Allyson was putting some money in her piggy bank, and it fell on the floor and broke, so she hasn't had a piggy bank for some time. I was just putting the $$ in a bowl for her, but the kids decided to put all of the money in Caden's pig.
Tonight, we were separating it and as I was emptying out the pig, some Chuck E. Cheese tickets came out. Caden told me that he put them in his pig. (He must have thought they were valuable)
I don't have the heart to tell him that they are not - so we will put them back in there for now. I don't think the bank would find any humor in that - so will have to remember to take them out before we bring the money in.

Random pics

When Caden has a hood on his shrit, he thinks that is his hat for going outside with his coat on.

Allyson loves to wear her kitty hat. It is her favorite.

Snuggled

These are some pics I took when the kids were napping.
They are at the age where they think they don't need a nap in the afternoon. Mom only fights with them for so long to lay down, and then I figure if they were tired, they would have fallen asleep.
They will typically get tired later in the afternoon (4:30 ish) if they don't nap earlier in the day.
This day, they both wanted to watch tv and were upset with each other for being on the couch and not having room for the other one.
I gave them both a pillow and put my blanket over them (they think it is a treat to use mom or dad's blanket) and let them watch tv. I was busy with other things and pretty soon I looked and found this.

Happy "Valentime's" Day

We received balloons from Grandma Mary and Grandpa Wayne.

We brought valentines for each of our classmates in the preschool room for a fun party day.

We wore our valentine shirts and exchanged treats with the kids.

We brought cookies to family.

We received yummy cupcakes from Grandma Kay and Grandpa Rick.

We celebrated Valentines Day as a family last week and went to Red Robin for supper. This is one of my favorites and was a special treat! Both kids enjoyed trying the lemon that came in my water.

I've Been Tagged

I've been tagged by Carey at Journey to Jaden to list 7 things you might not know about me.

The rules are to link the person who sent this to you and leave a comment on their blog so their readers can visit yours. Post the rules on your blog. Share 7 strange/weird facts about yourself. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, linking their blog. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

  1. I used to bite my fingernails (and my toenails - when I was little). I haven't done either for a long time. I guess that is where my daughter gets the habit from.
  2. I absolutely love zucchini. I love it cooked in things, and love it just plain cooked.
  3. When I was little, I used to think it would be neat to have twins. Who knew it would come true?~
  4. I have always lived within 15 miles of where I do now - and grew up living 1 mile from where I do now.
  5. My sister and I used to play "paper dolls" for hours and hours. We cut out of the clothing catalogs (like the JCPenney catalog) a mom, dad, sisters, brothers, etc and had lots of different clothing and bedroom ensembles. We each had a 5 foot by 3 foot piece of carpet that was the house and we would arrange our house and family on that carpet.
  6. I have belonged to the same church my entire life.
  7. I sell Usborne Books and Mary Kay (the Mary Kay selling is mostly to family and friends so that I can purchase the product at a reduced price).
Okay - I don't know many people that blog - so I will tag...
Candi (when you get back from your trip), Becky, Tami, and anyone that reads my blog. Feel free to just post your 7 in the comments, or email me.

Green Feet

Today, we are home early because of winter weather. It is snowing and the wind is blowing. There are lots of drifts on our gravel road. Right now it is 9 degrees outside (not including the wind chill). All of the local schools let out early.

When we got home today, Allyson took her socks and shoes off and we found she had green feet. She tells me it is paint on her feet.

Dog Sitting

This weekend, we helped Broc do chores for some friends. The kids and I loved playing with the dogs. The kids were excited to "help" but didn't care for it too much when the bigger dogs would bark. As you can see, Allyson has her hands over her ears in one of the pictures.
Caden loved getting Dora to dance. He was so proud that she would dance with him!
Our friends raise Boxers and you can visit their website by clicking here.

Legos and Doll Houses

Allyson loves playing with her My First Doll House that she got for Christmas last year from Grandpa Rick and Grandma Kay.
Daddy helped Caden build a lego house with a garage to put his cars in. He was pretty proud of it.

Tea Party

It has been pretty cold here lately, so we have stayed inside and played with our toys. Allyson really likes to pretend to have tea parties lately - this is a picture of one of them. She will take her plates and cups and put the toy food on them and invite Caden and I to join her.

Bless You

Caden likes to come to me and tell me (tattle) "Allyson just bless you'd on me" meaning that Allyson just sneezed on me.

Doorknob Hangers

In Sunday School, the kids made these. They are very proud of them and even though they don't have their own rooms quite yet - they each wanted to hang them on a doorknob.

Ready for Church

The kids love to watch cartoons in the morning - and on Sunday morning - they get ready for church and watch tv until it is time to leave. Caden's favorite cartoon is Curious George and Allyson's is Strawberry Shortcake.

Reading Books

The kids love books. They will make up stories if they don't know the right one. Sometimes they will remember parts of the story that I have read to them and will pretend to read it to each other.
