Strawberry Picking
The kids and I picked strawberries last week. There is a farm about an hour from our house that grows strawberries and they are the best. This was the first year that Caden and Allyson picked berries.

I love this one - Caden taking a break to sample the berries.

The kids were super excited to ride the "strawberry express" (a gator cart) to the picking field.
They did great for about 1/2 hour of picking, and then they were ready to be done. It was hot and humid (of course), so when we were finished picking, we got fresh strawberry popsicles. (they were delicious!)
We picked 2 full flats. Some to freeze, some to give away, and lots to eat!

Apple Blossoms
Last week while driving to and from work, I noticed an Apple tree at the end of a driveway. It looked like it was snowing underneath the tree. The tree was full of blossoms, and were falling to the ground. I thought it would be fun to take some pictures under the tree. I asked around at work, and after some explaining, I was able to figure out who's acreage it was. (I wasn't brave enough to just pull onto the yard and ask to take some pictures - without knowing who it was!)
Well, it turns out that the people weren't even home (yes - I did go and ring the doorbell, but no answer.)
So, the kids had fun taking pictures in the flowers.

*Today I noticed that the blossoms on the tree and on the ground are all gone - you would never know it was so pretty last week, except for our pictures!*

Sleepover
Friday evening, Tyler and Cody stayed over at our house. We had a fire in the firepit and roasted marshmallows. Yum! It was a beautiful night!

The next day, it was nice and sunny, so we first played with the sprinkler, and then the slip and slide. So much fun!

Boys and their Toys
This past week, Broc was working on a neighbor/friend's semi truck. Caden was so excited to see it pull on the yard so he could have a ride. Broc gave him a little ride in the truck, and when they got back, he got to pull the horn. Caden was loving every minute of the ride!

Cloud Balls
This past week, we had some humid weather, which leads to chances of storms in the evenings. One night this past week, the kids were showered and almost ready for bed, when daddy came in and wanted to show the kids the clouds outside.
They looked like big balls.

The "Real" Story
I couldn't resist posting these pictures. I was trying to get a couple shots of the kids after church. Caden is so silly and doesn't like to sit still and take a "nice" picture like mom wants, and Allyson likes to pretend to be "crabby" and not smile. After some coaxing I got a "good" picture, but I like these better - because they tell the Real Story!

Preschool Program
On June 4, the kids had a preschool program/graduation/birthday party for Generations. They sang a couple songs (inlcuing the Tooty Tat song), then had cake and ice cream.
Grandpa Rick and Grandma Kay came along to see the program.
Caden was very excited to sing with his friends for all the parents, grandpas, and grandmas to hear. Allyson didn't want to go to the front to sing (she had been saying all day that she wasn't going to sing, but she would go along). Cathy (one of the teachers) took Allyson to the front, and stayed up there by her. Allyson didn't sing and at first she just stood there. Then she started singing a little bit. As soon as she thought they were finished with the singing, she ran back to sit by me, but surprise, they were going to sing one more song - so she ran back up to the front to sing. (didn't want to miss out on anything!)

Both Caden and Allyson did a great job and I am proud of both of you!
You have learned so much this year in preschool. You learned how to write your name, learned all your letters, and the numbers 1-20 well! You are already looking foward to another year of preschool next year in a different school!

First Dentist Visit
On June 4, the kids had their first dentist visit. They both did very good. Allyson went first. She was very brave!

We just had check ups this time. Both kids were asked to guess how many teeth they thought they had in their mouth. Allyson guessed 40 and Caden guessed 30. They both only had 20 (which is normal). Caden went second and was a little nervous at first, but also did very good and was very brave.

Allyson had no problems. Caden will need to go to a pediatric dentist to have some work done on the back teeth. We have an appt. for later this month, so pray that everything goes smoothly. (FYI - I hated the dentist when I was little - I would scream - I still don't like going to the dentist, but have gotten over the screaming part! :>)
Both kids got to pick a new toothbrush - and got some new kids toothpaste. They were thrilled!
