Cloud Balls

This past week, we had some humid weather, which leads to chances of storms in the evenings. One night this past week, the kids were showered and almost ready for bed, when daddy came in and wanted to show the kids the clouds outside.
They looked like big balls.

The "Real" Story

I couldn't resist posting these pictures. I was trying to get a couple shots of the kids after church. Caden is so silly and doesn't like to sit still and take a "nice" picture like mom wants, and Allyson likes to pretend to be "crabby" and not smile. After some coaxing I got a "good" picture, but I like these better - because they tell the Real Story!

Preschool Program

On June 4, the kids had a preschool program/graduation/birthday party for Generations. They sang a couple songs (inlcuing the Tooty Tat song), then had cake and ice cream.
Grandpa Rick and Grandma Kay came along to see the program.
Caden was very excited to sing with his friends for all the parents, grandpas, and grandmas to hear. Allyson didn't want to go to the front to sing (she had been saying all day that she wasn't going to sing, but she would go along). Cathy (one of the teachers) took Allyson to the front, and stayed up there by her. Allyson didn't sing and at first she just stood there. Then she started singing a little bit. As soon as she thought they were finished with the singing, she ran back to sit by me, but surprise, they were going to sing one more song - so she ran back up to the front to sing. (didn't want to miss out on anything!)

Both Caden and Allyson did a great job and I am proud of both of you!
You have learned so much this year in preschool. You learned how to write your name, learned all your letters, and the numbers 1-20 well! You are already looking foward to another year of preschool next year in a different school!

First Dentist Visit

On June 4, the kids had their first dentist visit. They both did very good. Allyson went first. She was very brave!

We just had check ups this time. Both kids were asked to guess how many teeth they thought they had in their mouth. Allyson guessed 40 and Caden guessed 30. They both only had 20 (which is normal). Caden went second and was a little nervous at first, but also did very good and was very brave.

Allyson had no problems. Caden will need to go to a pediatric dentist to have some work done on the back teeth. We have an appt. for later this month, so pray that everything goes smoothly. (FYI - I hated the dentist when I was little - I would scream - I still don't like going to the dentist, but have gotten over the screaming part! :>)
Both kids got to pick a new toothbrush - and got some new kids toothpaste. They were thrilled!

Helping Out

Last week, I helped out a friend while she rested because of an injury. You can read about Carey's story on her blog.
Caden and Allyson loved playing with the kids (and the baby kittens).
Here is Jaden and Caden trying to catch baby kittens from under the deck.

Allyson and Summer also trying to catch the kittens.

Curls

It is time for Caden to get a haircut, but I wanted to share a picture of his curls when his hair gets a little longer.

Captured!

This is a picture of TD and TK playing. They were super excited for me to take this picture. How fun! Also it is TK's birthday tomorrow! Happy 10th birthday Tyler!

Say Cheese!

The other night, we watched "Baby Elsie" for a little while. The kids love to "babysit".
Allyson thought it was great to take pictures of Elsie with the camera - so I couldn't resist taking a picture of that. (Caden even shared his favorite blankie with Elsie - so sweet!)

Then we got out a toy that the kids played with when they were little. Allyson loved showing Elsie how to play.

Memorial Day 2009

On Monday, (Memorial Day) we went back to the campground to play. The weather was beautiful. The kids played with friends Jacob, and Brooklyn (both visiting their grandparents).
The kids had a great time hiking on the trails (to crystal hill) to find crystals, and snails.
Then after a hot hike back to the camper, they got out water guns to cool off.

I couldn't finish the post without this last picture. Caden is trying to get Great Grandma wet!

Happy Birthday Grandma Kay!

Saturday evening, after the wedding, we went to the campground where my parents were camping to celebrate my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday!

The kids all love to play together. Allyson and Sam in the sandbox.

Sunday, we had church by the river. We had church with 2 other local churches and then a potluck lunch after. Eli cam home with us after to play.
